In fact that is the very reason that many people visit Vegas and it is also one of the main reasons that the city of Las Vegas and the gambling empires that have been built, crumbled, and been rebuilt again and again have had many of the rocky rides that offer more bumps, dips, twists, and turns than you will find on many of the roller coasters that also inhabit this great city.
Las Vegas has so much more than Continue reading

The new Nike Ad featuring Tiger Woods, with Earl Woods’ (Tiger’s Dad) doing a voice over has caused quite a bit of controversy. The voice over, taken from an ABC interview in 2004 with the Sr. Woods, was used in the ad basically questioning Tiger about his “transgressions” and the media circus he’s created. Tiger’s dad died in 2006, and although this ad, like many other Nike ads, have some groups up in arms, Tiger defends the ad, and thinks it “very apropos” and goes on to say “It’s amazing how it — how my dad can speak to me from different ways, even when he’s long gone. He’s still helping me. I think any son who has lost a father and who meant so much in their life, I think they would understand the spot.”

The previous walk-around with Lise Marie was so successful we are going to do it again. Lise-Marie called us and told us that she wanted to come back and give answers to some of the questions that she was asked. She would also like to give others the chance to meet her and hear their concerns. This time around she will be accompanied by Jim Beaudrea. She will be walking around the building on Thursday November 12th from 1000 until 1200 and again from 1400 until 1600. Again, we believe that this is very worthwhile and hope you all pass this on and take this opportunity to have your voices heard.
Also, last week we had a meeting about the upcoming vacation bids. We were successful in getting the company to agree to the following:
- all of your vacation bid times for ALL of your choices will be available at the same time
- at the conclusion of each round of bidding –all of the selected vacation slots will be posted on the wall
- when you go in to bid your vacation the slots will be posted on the wall for you to see rather than on the computer
We hope that this will make the process easier for you all and more transparent.
As the weather gets colder, the deals get hotter!
The fall season is typically “slow season” for the travel industry. Hotels, airlines and tourist attractions are all vying for your business, and will deeply discount their product to try to attract. There are great deals in for shows in Las Vegas, skiing in Vancouver or sun and sand in Los Cabos. Where ever you go, you can bet you’re going to get a GREAT deal. View the TRAVEL DEALS section to view more great discounts on travel.
With the new bid brings a newly updated and somewhat cleaned up version of the site. I hope you all like it. I felt it was time to add a blog where information can be passed on relatively quickly. I’m going to try to persuade someone in the shop committee to update the blog as frequently as possible to keep you guys informed. If there’s anything you’d like to see on the site, please go to the feedback section and leave a comment.
